Overview

I have been painting for five decades beginning at age seven. Prior to that I was constantly drawing, painting and writing stories. As an adolescent I painted on wood, tile, and furniture using tole painting and Rosemaling techniques. I wanted to study Art and Anthropology but my family did not support my dreams so I chose to become an Occupational Therapist.

My first job I worked in Psychiatry helping thousands of people heal through painting, drawing, sculpture, woodworking, tile and weaving.

In my thirties I began Tai Chi and was blessed with the opportunity to study with three separate Asian teachers learning Chinese Brush Painting. I learned to paint on rice paper with bamboo brushes and to mount my paintings on another sheet of rice paper. My teachers taught me how to draw with my brush and special ways to put energy into the painting.

People who have purchased my work tell me the paintings make them feel content, happy and calm. I love to paint anything but specially enjoy painting landscapes and creatures that fly or swim in water. My paintings depict a different world from the world we live in.
